Menzgold: NAM 1 fraud case adjourned to November

The court hearing the alleged fraud case against Nana Appiah Mensah, aka NAM 1 and two others has adjourned the matter to November 4, 2020.

This was after the prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sylvester Asare told the court that the prosecution needed more time to make a case and advise the court on the matter.

NAM1 is the Chief Executive Officer of defunct gold dealership firm, Menzgold and currently facing charges of defrauding by false pretence in court.

In his application for adjournment at the circuit court today, (Thursday, October 1, 2020) ASP Asare told the court that the prosecution was hoping that the trial would commence in the new legal year.

The court, presided over by Ms Evelyn Asamoah adjourned the case to Wednesday, November 4, 2020.

The prosecution had accused Nana Mensah, his wife, Ms Rose Tetteh, and his sister, Ms Benedicta Mensah, of using Menzgold as a tool to defraud more than 16,000 people of GH¢1.68 billion.

His wife and his sister are, however, at large.
